However, this mount (PRG-1, PRG-1S, PRH-1W)
only includes the part that attaches to the ceiling
and the gear positioning system. It DOES NOT
include the PAP-UNV Adapter Plate as pictured

The photo shows the plate and arms for mouting
a project. These parts are not included, and it
is NOT POSSIBLE to mount a projector with this
product alone!
In this case, the fault appears to be with the
manufacture, Peerless, as on their web-site

when look at PRG-1, the photo also shows
the adapter plate and arms. The "additional
images" are even more misleading. Without
reading the manual (to pg. 8) you don't see that
all the adapter plates are "sold separately".
Since it is impossible mount a projector, I can't
comment on the gear mechanism, other than to
say it looks comparable to other Peerless mounts
I've used. The worm gear is steel, and the conventional
gear is brass.
Purchased this item from the PricePros. It appears
new, in a Peerless factory labeled box, with
the typical Peerless instruction sheets.
