(More customer reviews)I bought this adapter to be able to hook my Macbook Pro to a Smartboard at work. I also use an iMac with an original Apple VGA adapter. The Apple adapter works fine with both my Macbook Pro and my iMac. This third-party adapter only works with the iMac. It's the right size (it plugs into the mini display port on both computers) but for some reason, my Macbook Pro doesn't recognize it. Since the original Apple adapter is the property of my work, I can't really swap them and keep the Apple one for myself. So I am essentially out the cost of this device. Oddly enough, the construction seems to be at least on a par with Apple's product; maybe even a little better. The cord is thicker and seems more durable. But its lack of functionality with my Macbook Pro makes it useless for my needs. I'd suggest that anyone interested in this adapter to reconsider and buy directly from Apple. The extra cost might be well worth it.
