(More customer reviews)This magnifier lamp is much better than most because it has a clear glass lens. Most such lamps use a plastic lens that causes distortion. So, the image here is clean and wide, good light source (not color corrected), and the flip-up dust cap is a good idea. But there's one glitch to be wary of; the place where the gooseneck connects to the base. This spot supports the weight of heavy glass magnifier and lamp assembly, but is only a part of the thin plastic shell that covers the base. Mine broke within weeks. Impossible to repair. If you buy this lamp, treat it VERY carefully, especially where the neck emerges from the base. It's not reinforced as it should be.
