(More customer reviews)This is a great lamp that you can leave on, and "turn off" by turning the "shade" feature (so the light stays on the whole time, you just can't see it when you turn the shade to cover the opening. However, you can't read by this light, it gives off enough light for you to see your way and you can distinguish colors by the light, too (so it's more powerful than a nightlight) but I would not recommend reading by this light alone.
