(More customer reviews)It's not going to give you the amazing clarity you expect from a high-end webcam, but it's not the same price either. We tried one of the lowest-end ones just to get up and running on Skype and it was a complete disaster. I also did not want a Microsoft one, which would insist on using MS software. This one was a piece of cake to install, works fine, and my kids love the "special effects" software that came with it. We also bought it for the grandparents for Christmas and they have just started using it but seem to have no problems.
