I have a Toshiba x205 and I read some reviews that said the keys popped off easily. I bought this to protect it. It works fine to stop keys from popping off. It covers the keypad area, but not the entire top of the laptop. It is molded to fit the keys and has raised lines over the F and J keys to help with your hand placement without looking. It doesn't use adhesive to stick to the keys, but is tacky enough that is stays on without sliding. It seems neither too thick or thin. The only complaint I have is that its slightly tacky surface makes hair stick to it stubbornly.
