I was very concerned that the projector lamp I had received was actually previously used and returned to the vendor who then turned around and sold this product to me. I asked to return this product and exchange it for another lamp with a "new" label on it. The vendor told me that all of the lamps come without the label even though the installations directions that come with the lamp tell the end user to remove the new label before installing the lamp in the projector. However, he did promptly take back the lamp I had received and replaced it with another lamp that didn't look any better than the first lamp that looked "used". My conclusion is that this projector lamp is definitely not made by the manufacturer (Sony) of the projector, and I have serious doubts whether I will ever get the 2,000 hour lifetime rating for this projector lamp. In the end, I am very sorry that I didn't spend a few dollars more and didn't order a genuine Sony projector lamp. Keep an extra LMP-H200 lamp on hand for your Sony VPL-VW60, VPL-VW50, or VPL-VW40 front projector so you'll be ready when it's time for a change. Eventually lamps burn out, and almost always at the worst possible time. So, it's wise to pick up a replacement before you actually need it.
