(More customer reviews)I was very excited to purchase a new projector as my last projector (ASKproxima/InFocus machine) died after quite a bit of use over 5-6 years. I anticipated some noteworthy advances in technology but this particular model came up short. I use my projector for both instruction in the classroom as well as home movie watching use. This projector was touted as being especially for teachers but it is really too large to easily transport. Furthermore their was no carrying case included (vs. my last projector which had a soft case with shoulder strap). After 5 years the fan noise was actually slighty worse. The blue LED ring around the lens is too bright for night home use (though there may have been an option to disable this). The above issues aside the number one issue I have with this machine is that while the advertising said you could have the projector very close to the screen (helpful in tight quarters) I didn't realize that you HAVE to have the projector very close to the screen...as in 4-5 feet. Yes indeed when I dug into the specs I did see that the 'throw distance' was quite small. My mistake for missing that point but with there is effectively no way to use this project if your projector platform is further away, like mine at 12 feet. Finally, the controls to manage vertical pitch, optical zoom and interdependent and NOT intuitive. For anyone looking for a quick-to-set up, transportable projector...look elsewhere. For anyone looking to install this in a fixed location at home or in the classroom, in a position very close to the screen I'd say go for it. The image itself is bright and crisp when the setup is optimized.
