(More customer reviews)After 9,000+ hours on the previous lamp, my SXRD 50" finally quit. This was an economical quick fix for me though. This is just the lamp itself so it will take a little bit of DIYing to get it done. Check youtube for some instructional videos concerning the XL-5100. It's not hard and it saves you money to buy just the lamp and not the whole fixture. A couple of tips though. Wear some latex gloves to avoid having skin oil or dirt from getting on the lamp facing and be gentle on the plastic housing. I tried to pry it apart with a little too much force and did break a small part. No harm no foul though and it went back together again. My picture looks great again and I'm hoping this will be the last bulb I'll purchase.
