(More customer reviews)This wasn't a bad projector at first. Brightness and resolution was good, but longevity was not: It died after just under a month of service. We had an approval for a repair quickly, but since then the repair company has been jerking us around. It started with a repair estimate of 2 days, then 5, then 10, now it's been over a month and they actually told me that they had to manufacture the spare part in China in a one-off and ship it over here, which could take another 2-4 weeks. Replacement was out of the question; the best we got was an offer of a refurbished older model. At this point I've lost all trust and faith in Infocus company reliability, and will now be patronizing other brands in the future, especially after our InFocus IN1100 problems in the same time frame.
When it worked, I was happy with it. The menu was somewhat better and easier to navigate than our older projectors. The black level was excellent, and colors were extremely vivid relative to other projectors, but somewhat difficult to tune perfectly despite a powerful color correction control. Fortunately, in our main application we did not need perfect color. It is fairly quiet relative to others, but higher pitched. In a perfectly dark room, it would be easy to see the cool-looking controls, but I'm not sure that anyone using it in one would use anything but the remote control. The remote is ok, but it's compatible with Logitech Harmony for better home theater integration.
ECO mode may save lamp life but still uses the same power and puts out the same heat, this is not a cool projector by any means. I'd say the only thing missing was DisplayLink, except the Infocus implementation seems to corrupt any system that uses it on the 1100. The Wireless link requires an expensive proprietary adapter, and isn't compatible with wifi, so I didn't test it. I was ready to rate this projector much higher until the warranty problems showed up. Beware.
